We want to recognize our recycling partners throughout the region for their overall sustainability efforts and accomplishments. Without their hard work and commitment, none of recycOil's efforts would be possible. |
This month, we are proud to highlight the work of
Colorado State University's Housing & Dining Services.
With a total operating budget of over 29 million dollars in FY2012, Dining Services operates 6 dining centers and 2 express dining facilities on the Fort Collins campus. In that same time period, Dining Services provided more than 2.5 MILLION meals to students, staff and faculty, and over 20 percent of the food served in the dining centers was organic or locally grown and/or supplied.
Last school year alone, CSU students and staff recycled nearly 4,000 gallons of used cooking oil for biodiesel production. Resulting in enough clean burning, renewable fuel to drive a diesel powered car or truck from Fort Collins to Saudi Arabia and back ... 6 TIMES!
Now, THAT is what sustainability looks like!

Survey Results Are In! Drum roll, Please?
Congratulations to our grand prize winner, Chris Heinritz, co-owner of The Sink in Boulder, Colorado! |
A
special thanks to everyone who took the time to complete our recent
survey. We want you to know that we appreciate your input ... and we're
taking notes!
The
majority of respondents noted that their recycling service should be
reliable and timely without having to call for service.
The second most important aspect of service, according to respondents, is that recycling containers need to be clean and secure.
We
see no need to choose between these, as we are committed to improving
all aspects of your recycling service, and we're taking action according
to your needs!
Regarding the level of service, we are proud that in 2011, nearly 95% of all recycOil service events (over 18,000 events in total)
were performed without a call. And we're working to close the gap on
the remaining 5% to ensure that you continue to receive the cleanest,
most reliable service in the Rocky Mountain West!
Additionally, recycOil is in the
process of ordering over 250 new recycling containers, complete with
grated, locking lids - so your staff and your oil remain safe!
