Baking Mixes & Bread from Bella Gluten-Free
In 2010,
after seeing an increasing need for gluten free products and living
with Celiac Disease herself, Mary Capone founded Bella Gluten-Free.
As a former pastry chef accustomed to making tasty and ascetically
pleasing goodies, Capone didn't want to make just any gluten free
product. She wanted to create something that would bring the
"beautiful" back to eating for those following a gluten
free diet.
Nationally
known as a cookbook author and an instructor of gourmet allergen free
foods, Capone is well versed on what it takes to make a great gluten
free product. Knowing substitutions for gluten free flours can be
tricky, she developed All Purpose Baking Mix that can substitute
standard flour "cup for cup" in pastry recipes.
Not only did
Capone see a lack of "beautiful" options available in
gluten free, she found that many of the breads available were lacking
and in need of a makeover. Through this, her multigrain bread recipe
was born.
Continuing
to develop her product line, Bella Gluten-Free
now offers All Purpose Baking Mix, Pizza Dough, Rolls & Focaccia
Mix, and the MultiGrain Sandwich Bread Mix - all gluten free of
course. Focused on offering the best product possible, all mixtures
use whole grain, high quality flours containing no GMO ingredients.
Her products are manufactured in an allergen free kitchen as well,
ensuring safe eating for her customers. What sets her apart from
other contributors is that she makes both the mixes and baked
multigrain sandwich bread loaves, providing diversity to chefs
allowing them to use different applications of her products in their
kitchens. Her three elements, and the standards by which her products
are produced, are focused on taste, texture and nutrition.
Bella Gluten-Free
enjoys giving back to the community, and always works to become a
more environmentally sustainable business. Capone offers food
demonstrations and education whenever possible to build awareness for
healthy gluten free diets and the impact they have on adults and
children. Soon, Bella Gluten-Free
will transition packaging from the current poly bags to recycled
paper materials. The mixes are available in varying sizes are well,
as to accommodate the diversity of needs within residential to
commercial kitchens!
When asked
if Capone has a favorite mix, Capone admits that Bella Gluten-Free
Pizza Dough, Rolls & Focaccia Mix wins for its simplicity. The
base is so versatile - making pizza dough, dinner rolls, focaccia
bread or even a baguette. "All you need is a fork and a bowl for
mixing." Stay tuned, Mary's lips are sealed but she has teased
us with news that a new line of products will be introduced in
2015!
