While working in a spa in Breckenridge, Helena Hollis felt empathy for
the many clients vacationing in the high country who were ridden with
altitude sickness. Growing up on a strict macrobiotic diet herself, and
with a family who ran a natural foods store, Helena naturally suggested
coconut water to be the hydration remedy that these suffering clients
needed. The problem was, coconut water was not an easy find 9600 feet
above sea level.
In 2009 the spark of an idea began and after a trip to Thailand in 2012,
to identify the perfect variety of coconuts for this water, CocoRidge launched
in 2013.
CocoRidge travels
light in it's upcycled tin can and has an edgy, mountain sports
look. Coconut water is rich in magnesium, potassium, sodium, zinc
and antioxidants. Not only awesome hydration for the body,
additional health benefits include boosted energy levels, lower blood
pressure, improved digestion, aid in circulation, and anti aging
prevention. Coconut water is derived from the liquid within young
green coconuts. This liquid is packed with electrolytes, contains
no cholesterol or fat and is naturally soy, dairy and gluten free.
Helena, and her business partner Johney Burke, strive to be different
from the other competitive products out there. Their blend of two
different coconut varieties achieves the smooth, sweet taste of CocoRidge without
any added sugar. They chose pulp free for their product and
source coconuts from pesticide free plantations. Given the
extreme health benefits along with the strong mountain sports branding,
CocoRidge can be found sponsoring an array of professional Colorado
athletes. By way of sharing product, these athletes are naturally
motivated to consume CocoRidge and fuel their bodies during their sport
and recovery with this refreshing beverage.
