Colorado
Lamb by Longs
Peak Lamb Longs Peak Lamb
is a premium, local, natural lamb product developed and
processed by Innovative Foods. Many might not be aware
that our very own backyard is the lamb feeding
capitol of the US, stretching between
Longmont, Brighton, Greeley and Fort Collins.
 The
lamb supply for the Longs Peak Lamb brand comes
from livestock raised by Larry Crego of Crego Land and
Livestock in Wellington CO. For over 6
decades, the Crego family has been raising quality sheep
on their 30 acre irrigated pasture. In addition to
providing high quality meat for our community, top
quality Crego Family show lambs are brought to 4-H and
FFA livestock shows around the country.
The black faced ewes harvested for
Longs Peak Lamb include Hampshire and Hampshire/Suffolk
crossbreds. These particular breeds are big, lean and
exceptionally muscular lambs processed between 5-8
months in age. Resulting in their unique taste and
texture, Crego sheep are fed naturally on grass, alfalfa
and mama's milk. They are then finished on a sweet feed
ration with grain, protein and molasses. This vegetarian
diet is natural and free of any animal by-products,
hormones or antibiotics.
For your
upcoming Christmas or New Year's menu specials contact
your area sales rep for fresh cuts of this rich,
delicious native animal. Slow roasted
shoulders and leg of lamb served in their own juices
allows the meat to speak for itself. Longs
Peak Lamb fresh grind has a very mild, sweet flavor
adding a delicious twist to your burger or slider, for a
local Colorado flare. American lamb is 10,000
miles fresher than imported lamb. Invite your customers
